Recently I began to think about what exactly this negative and positive thing is? And why should you work with them? And who needs all this anyway?
I decided to look for answers on the net. What I found:
Positivity in photography
In photography, positive refers to the end product of the photographic process.
Hmm, interesting - the final product is therefore positive... And then what? What does the photography process include?
The photographic process is divided into two stages:
1. Negative process:
When the camera shutter is opened, the light from the illuminated object is projected onto the photographic film (or photographic plate) and illuminates certain areas on the photographic film (photoplate).
Photographic film (photographic plate) is developed, that is, subjected to chemical processing. As a result, a negative image of the photographed object is formed on photographic film (photographic plate).

Positive thinking is even better. Judging by the meaning of these words in relation to photography, negative is even cooler. It can be used multiple times for many positive photos!

During my childhood, the concept of “positive thinking” did not exist; cheerful people were called optimists, and their opposite was called pessimists, whiners. Alas, the example of my closest person - my mother - set me up precisely that nothing good would happen and could not happen. Either from her own disappointments in life, or from excessive caution, she “grounded” any impulses: “You won’t succeed,” “Who’s waiting for you there?”, “You shouldn’t even try!” The event usually predicted the worst case scenario. And yes, she was sad for the most part, always finding confirmation of its imperfection in the outside world.
Of course, such a position caused rejection. Perhaps my sister and I could have grown up to be fearful, sad quiet people, but this did not happen. On the contrary, all efforts were aimed at proving how wrong my mother was. "Will not work? - And I will do it! “Is no one waiting? “Well, we’ll see.” I think there would be fewer bruises and risky adventures in my life if I had not so violently resisted an opinion that did not suit me.
Positive thinking person
Understands that everything in life is the result of his own choices and decisions. That’s why he doesn’t curse fate and doesn’t complain. He doesn't dwell on his own mistakes. As Henry Ford said, failure is an opportunity to start over, only wiser. If you are tired, rest! Realizes that in any situation there will be moments that can be turned to your advantage. Chooses an environment that inspires. The Universe is a sensitive organism that reacts to your energy radiation. If you bring goodness and light, they will return to you many times over.

John Kehoe, Joe Dispenza - more modern authors - went even further. And, referring to the laws of quantum physics, they claim that in the quantum field any options are available to us (including the most attractive ones), we just need to tune in to the appropriate energy radiation. Like attracts like, a person receives a response from the Universe that he predicts. You think that you are a pathetic loser - well, fate will constantly throw up unpleasant surprises to confirm it. On the contrary, positive emotions will attract good events into life. You don’t even have to try to do something, the Universe itself will provide you with all the opportunities. Have you thought about where to get money to open a business or buy an apartment? Have you dreamed of meeting an interesting, bright man? Just imagine that you already have this, feel joy and gratitude - and after a while all this will come into your life. As you understand, this option is not for skeptics. The boy, whom his mother taught to see only the good in life, to trust and smile at people no matter what, turned into a serial killer. “Positive thinking is just a philosophy of hypocrisy, because when you want to cry, it teaches you to sing. But such a song will not have any meaning, because it is born not from the heart, but from the mind,” wrote one of the most extraordinary thinkers, Osho.
Negative emotions
Don't try to drown them out. This way you will drive them into the area of the unconscious, and this is worse. Scream if you feel angry, cry if it hurts. Let your emotions out, let go and move on with your life.
By agreeing to see only the good side in everything and not notice the bad, we are trying to deceive ourselves. Disasters, epidemics, wars, violence, lawlessness - it is difficult to convince yourself that these phenomena can be perceived in a positive way. And in this way we will not change reality. By avoiding problems and withdrawing into the shell of your own well-being, enlightenment and goodness, you will also not achieve it. A good friend of mine refused to even talk about problems with mutual friends - they were to blame, not positive, succumbed to destructive emotions, and thus attracted tragic events into their lives. Alas, the current situation in the world, the threat looming over humanity, have clearly demonstrated how connected and dependent we are on each other. Who is to blame for what happened? Who wasn't positive?..
“Honesty, sincerity, love, compassion - where do they come from if there is no awareness? And only a few people (for example, such as Gautama) directly said that you first need to cultivate awareness in yourself, and only then true truth, true love and true compassion will appear in you. But who wants to understand this today? We just want to be positive because it benefits us.” This is also a quote from Osho. But I agree with this completely.
When the glass is half full
It's actually great to be optimistic! These people don't even need to convince themselves that the glass is half full. It somehow happens automatically for them. My friend Elena is one of those. I remember how she experienced the betrayal of a loved one, ended up in the hospital, and lost her job. But this gave me a reason to restructure, find myself in another field, and buy my own apartment. Moreover, when she got involved in a mortgage, she had no idea how she would repay the loan, but everything turned out more than successfully.

But during quarantine, such an opportunity presented itself. The author advises not to fight at windmills, but to trust and learn to feel the flow of life, to relate to what is happening more easily, without attaching much importance to it. Resistance will lead to the emergence of even stronger obstacles, and worries will deprive you of the necessary energy. In general, as the Dalai Lama taught, “If a problem can be solved, there is no need to worry about it. If a problem cannot be solved, there is no point in worrying about it.” But since not all of us have achieved such a level of awareness and enlightenment, below are several practical techniques that will help, if not turn from a pessimist into an optimist, then at least look at the situation from the other side.

In simple terms, sports help the brain become stronger and work more efficiently.
Moments of joy
Record them for yourself. Keep yourself a positive thinking diary where you will write down all the good things that happened to you during the day. After reading the entries after some time, you will understand that life can be bright and beautiful.
