The older I get, the more convinced I am that independence is amazing.
No, actually I love my friends and our time together. However, many people underestimate how much we can enjoy our own activities without any company. Some people think of "loneliness" as a negative thing. This means that you are either antisocial or a “loser.” I have to admit that I once thought so too, and only now I realize that I missed out on a lot of amazing things because I didn’t want to do them alone. Whenever I was going to go somewhere, say, attend a concert, go to the cinema or go fishing, I asked my friends to accompany me, and if they refused, I also refused such an idea.
Now I don't let anyone or anything hold me back and do what my heart desires, even if it means doing it alone.
Once there was a shift in my thinking and I began to live my life the way I liked, I gained this amazing feeling of freedom: freedom to be myself, freedom to do what I want. And, I must say, there is no better feeling than independence. It turns out that enjoying your own company is nice too!
Over the past few years I have experienced the best times of my life. I hiked, rode a motorcycle, tried bungee jumping, traveled independently, and made unforgettable memories. I learned to be my own best friend.
